Celebrating the Imperfect Body with Elizabeth Jameson

In our debut issue, we were honored to feature Elizabeth Jameson. Many years ago, Elizabeth was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Ever since, she has been turning her medical diagnosis into colorful works of art, changing the discourse of what it means to live with a progressive disease.

We just finished watching an incredibly impactful TedxStanford talk by Elizabeth Jameson. From hearing about her neighbor that took her to her first art class, to becoming a painter, to shifting back into a life rooted in service, we were filled with tears and we were filled with joy.

Elizabeth’s work creates a space to tell our stories of illness, encouraging us to “embrace and celebrate our imperfect bodies.” She is inspiring to us all as she documents her own and others’ story of illness.

You can watch her TED Talk here: Learning to Embrace and Celebrate Our Imperfect Bodies

Elizabeth was featured in Issue #1 of E-Squared Magazine and we are so very honored to have her.
